About Us

Lumen & Loam is a small home-decor shop run by Sam White from Bolton, Massachusetts. It started from a simple idea: the small things in a room do most of the work. Warm light in the evening, a rug underfoot, a mat that earns its place by the door. Those are the pieces you actually notice, and they are usually the ones people leave until last.

Who is behind it

Just me, Sam, and a laptop at a kitchen table in Bolton. I spent far too long trying to buy decent outdoor lighting and a rug that did not look like a hotel corridor, and decided to build the shop I wished existed: a short, well-chosen range with honest descriptions, straight prices, and a real person answering the email.

What we look for

Every piece is chosen for how it holds up, not only how it photographs. Honest materials. Finishes that age well rather than chip in a season. Shapes that suit a real home rather than a showroom. We started with outdoor and patio lighting because good outdoor light is surprisingly hard to buy well; rugs, mats, table pieces and small accents followed.

How orders work

We are a small operation and do not hold a warehouse of stock, which is how we keep prices where they are. Each order is shipped to you directly from the maker we buy it from, and we are upfront that this takes longer than a same-week delivery: most orders arrive within 10 to 25 days, and you receive tracking by email as soon as it ships. We ship anywhere in the United States. Standard shipping is $8, free on orders over $50, and there is a 30-day return window on everything.

What we will not do is describe a product as something it is not. If a fitting is moisture resistant rather than waterproof, the page says so. If a bulb is not included, the page says that too.

Getting in touch

There is no call centre here. Email info@lumenandloam.store or call +1 (781) 223-8583 and a person reads it, usually within one business day, Monday to Friday. We will tell you honestly whether a piece suits what you are trying to do, including when the answer is no.
