Choosing
Crimson Medallion and Ruby Court are the classic reds with a strong centre. Garnet Allover drops the medallion for dense floral across the whole field. Azure Medallion and Scarlet Diamond bring in blue and cream against the red. Onyx Gold is the dark one, gold work on near black. Ivory Bloom and Tribal Cream reverse it, pattern on a pale ground, which lifts a dark floor.
Choosing a size
40 x 60cm and 50 x 80cm are doorway and bedside pieces. 60 x 90cm suits a hallway. 80 x 120cm sits in front of a sofa. 100 x 160cm and 120 x 160cm are room rugs, large enough to put furniture on.
Care
Vacuum on a low setting without the beater bar, which pulls at a printed pile. Blot spills rather than rubbing. Air it outdoors occasionally rather than washing a large size, since a soaked plush rug takes days to dry through.
