Solar Up and Down Fence Light

A small wall unit that throws light in two directions, up the wall and down it, so you get two soft fans of light instead of one flat wash. Repeated along a fence or a garden wall it gives the effect of proper landscape lighting for the price of a solar light.

Warm white is the quieter choice and suits brick and timber. Multicolor cycles through shades, which is better suited to a party than to a Tuesday.

Where to put it

Fence panels, a garden wall, either side of a gate, along a garage. Mount at eye level or a little above so both fans of light have a surface to land on. Tucked into a corner or under an overhang, the effect is lost.

Charging

A full day of direct sun gives close to a full night. A cloudy week will cut that back, which is the trade for having no wiring at all.
