Bohemian Crystal Velvet Rug

Crystal velvet gives this bohemian rug a low sheen that shifts as you walk past it, so the printed pattern looks slightly different from either side of the room. The motifs are loose and folk-leaning rather than formal, warm in tone and easy to live with. Lumen & Loam reaches for it when a room feels hard: a velvet surface softens tile, laminate and floorboards immediately and takes some of the echo out of a space.

The pile is crystal velvet, a dense short fiber that feels smooth underfoot and shows footprints only lightly. It is bonded to a backing that keeps the rug lying flat and helps it stay put on smooth floors. Thin enough to slide under a sofa leg or a coffee table without lifting furniture out of level, it also works over wall-to-wall carpet as a layer. The printed design keeps definition because the fiber is cut short.

Six patterns are offered, FSJR-199 through FSJR-204, in sizes starting at 40x60cm (16x24inch) and 50x80cm (20x31inch) and running up through larger floor sizes. Vacuum without a beater bar, spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap, and let it dry fully before walking on it. Place it under a coffee table, at the foot of a bed, or beside a sofa where bare feet land first thing in the morning.
