Bordered Area Rug

A plain rug with a fine border set in from the edge, and nothing else going on. It is the piece that goes under a sofa or a bed and lets the rest of the room be the interesting part, pulling the furniture together into one group instead of leaving it adrift on bare floor. Lumen & Loam keeps the drawing deliberately quiet here, so the rug reads as ground rather than as decoration.

The pile is short and dense, printed with the inset border rather than woven, which keeps the line crisp and the surface easy to vacuum. A non slip backing holds it against wood or tile. Seven colors are offered: Ivory and Wheat are palest and open a room up, Sand Border and Ash Grey sit in the middle, and Walnut, Espresso and Charcoal go dark, hiding traffic and anchoring a pale floor.

Three sizes. 50 x 80cm works as a bedside or doorway mat, 80 x 120cm sits in front of a sofa, and 120 x 160cm is the full living room size, meant to go under a coffee table with the front feet of the sofa standing on it, which is what stops a rug looking marooned. Indoor use only. Vacuum regularly, rotate it a couple of times a year, and blot spills rather than rubbing them.
