Crystal Display Floating Shelf

A wall-mounted display ledge with a mirrored back panel, built to show off the things that usually get lost in a drawer: crystals, small bottles, trinkets, a couple of candles. The mirror doubles whatever sits on it and bounces light into a dim corner, and the silhouette leans gothic-boho rather than plain. The frame is wood with a mirrored insert and a narrow lip along the front of the shelf, so small round objects are less likely to roll off the edge. It mounts flat to the wall and stands off only a little, which keeps it out of the way in a tight hallway or beside a doorway. Load it with light objects: stones, incense holders, miniature vessels or tealights in glass, rather than heavy books and pots.

It comes in a single design, which makes it easy to hang two or three in a vertical run or a stepped diagonal. Dust the shelf with a dry cloth and clean the mirror with glass cleaner applied to the cloth rather than sprayed at the wood. Fix into a stud or use proper wall anchors. Put it in an entry, above a dresser, beside a bed, or in a hallway where a mirrored surface opens the space up.
