The velvet surface is bonded to a rubber backing that grips hard floors, so the rug stays put on tile, laminate and wood and does not bunch under a coffee table. The low profile sits flat beneath doors and works with robot vacuums. Spot clean with a mild detergent and a damp cloth, and let the rug dry flat. If it arrives folded, lay it out for a day or two and any creases will settle.

Four sizes cover most rooms: 60 x 90 cm for a bedside or entry, 80 x 120 cm for a reading corner, 100 x 160 cm for a small living room and 140 x 200 cm to anchor a seating area. Pair it with a neutral sofa and let the plush texture do the work.
