Flocked Bath Mat

A dense flocked mat with the pattern worked into the pile rather than printed on top, so the design has real depth and does not wear off where you step. Three graphic designs in the same soft short pile give a bathroom some structure without a pattern clash. It is one of the more decisive bathroom pieces Lumen & Loam makes, and it sets the tone of a small room quickly.

The pile is short, dense and absorbent, and it dries back quickly between uses rather than staying damp all morning. A non slip backing keeps it in place on tile. Fjord is a soft blue and white chevron, the gentlest of the three; Graphite runs black, white and grey in broad stripes and is the one that reads as graphic; Harbour takes the same stripe in blue and sits between the two.

Two sizes, 40 x 60cm and 50 x 80cm. Use it beside a bath or shower, or in front of a basin. The pattern is directional, so lay it with the stripes running across the way you step onto it rather than along. Machine wash cool and dry flat, and keep it off a hot radiator: the backing is what grips the floor, and heat is what ruins it.
