Description

A magnetic bar that holds knives flat against the wall, off the worktop and out of a drawer where blades knock together and dull each other. Hung above a prep area it clears the counter and turns a set of knives into something worth looking at. It is one of the most space saving pieces in the Lumen & Loam kitchen range, and it makes a small kitchen work noticeably harder.

Magnets are set into a molded housing, strong enough to hold any steel blade and to take scissors and peelers too. It mounts with the supplied screws and wall plugs, or with adhesive pads on a tile surface. Knives are not included. Set knives on and lift them off rather than sliding them along the bar, which is what puts fine scratches down the flat of a blade.

Four lengths: 33cm, 38cm, 50cm and 55cm. Measure the run of wall first. 33cm suits a narrow gap beside a hob, and 55cm holds a full set with room to spare. If you are mounting under a wall cabinet, leave enough clearance below to lift a long blade straight off rather than dragging it sideways. Wipe with a damp cloth and keep it dry.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I mount it?

Use the supplied screws and wall plugs for a solid wall, or adhesive pads on a tile surface. Under a wall cabinet, leave enough clearance to lift a long blade straight off.

Will it hold heavy knives?

Yes. The magnets set into the housing are strong enough to hold any steel blade, and they take scissors and peelers too.

Which length should I choose?

Measure the run of wall first. 33cm suits a narrow gap beside a hob, 38 and 50cm cover most everyday sets, and 55cm holds a full set with room to spare.

Will it scratch my knives?

Not if you set knives on and lift them off rather than sliding them along the bar. Lifting keeps the flat of the blade clean and bright.

How do I clean it?

Wipe it with a damp cloth and keep it dry. That is all it needs to keep holding firmly year after year.
