Description
The Slatted Black Up Down Wall Light has a slatted face, so the beam that goes up the wall arrives broken into fine lines instead of a flat wash, while the downward light stays plain and useful. The effect really shows on a textured wall, brick or render, which is exactly where it is worth putting. Lumen & Loam stocks it as the more graphic take on the up and down sconce.
The body is iron in black with an integrated warm white LED, so there is no bulb to replace. It is rated IP65 and runs on 85 to 265V, hardwired with no plug, which means it needs a circuit at the mounting point; installation by a qualified electrician is recommended, especially outdoors. The fitting is not dimmable and carries a two-year warranty.
Choose 7W for a doorway or a narrow wall and 12W where there is more wall to fill, singly or as a set of two. Mount it either side of a garage, along a rendered or brick wall, beside a front door, or on a balcony. A pair spaced evenly reads better than one on its own. Wipe the iron body with a soft dry cloth to keep the finish clean.

Light in lines
The slatted face breaks the upward beam into fine bands while the downward light stays plain and useful. On brick or render the pattern really shows.
Built for the weather
A black iron body and an integrated warm white LED, rated IP65 for rain and spray. There is no bulb to change and nothing to fade.
Better in pairs
Either side of a garage door, flanking an entrance or spaced along a long wall, two fittings set evenly read far better than one. Lumen & Loam sells it singly or as a set of two.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this light hardwired?
Yes. It runs on 85 to 265V and wires straight into a circuit at the mounting point with no plug. We recommend a qualified electrician fits it, as with any outdoor mains light.
Should I pick 7W or 12W?
7W is right beside a front door or on a narrow wall. 12W fills a wider wall or a two story face with more reach up and down. Both give the same warm white light.
Do I need to buy a bulb?
No. The LED is built in and lasts the life of the fitting, so there is nothing to source or replace. It is not dimmable and gives a steady warm white glow. See our Lighting Guide for color temperature, brightness and placement advice.
Where does the slatted effect look best?
Any textured wall. Brick, render and stone all catch the lines of light beautifully. On a smooth painted wall you still get a clear graphic pattern above the fitting.
How do I keep the finish looking good?
Wipe the iron body with a soft dry cloth now and then. The finish is made for outdoor use and the fitting carries a two year warranty.
