Description

The Solar Coach Lantern Path Stake is a small black lantern on a stake, shaped like a coach lamp rather than a garden spike, for marking the edge of a path or a drive. It brings a little of the front-door lantern look down to ground level, which is why it sits so naturally alongside the rest of the Lumen & Loam outdoor collection.

The lantern head sits on a ground stake that pushes into soft ground by hand, with no wiring, no tools and no outlet needed. A solar panel in the lantern roof charges the light through the day, and a light sensor switches it on at dusk and off at dawn. The panel needs direct sun rather than just daylight, so keep it out of the shadow of a hedge or the house.

Choose warm white or cool white; warm gives the softer, older look against planting, while cool is brighter and reads more modern along a drive. Each lantern is sold as a single light. Set a run of them evenly along a path, down a driveway edge, around a bed or either side of a gate; a spaced row reads far better than two or three scattered. Wipe the panel clean occasionally to keep the charge strong.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I install it?

Push the stake into soft ground by hand where the lantern roof will get direct sun. There is no wiring, no tools and no outlet needed. See our Lighting Guide for color temperature, brightness and placement advice.

How does it switch on?

A light sensor turns it on at dusk and off at dawn, so it takes care of itself every evening once the panel has charged during the day.

Warm white or cool white?

Warm white gives the softer, older look against planting. Cool white is brighter and reads more modern along a driveway. Both use the same lantern.

How many come in a pack?

Each lantern is sold as a single light, so you can buy exactly the number you need. A spaced row of four or six reads far better than two or three scattered.

Does it need much care?

Very little. Wipe the panel in the roof clean now and then so it charges strongly, and keep it out of the shadow of a hedge or the house.
