Description

The Solar Color Changing Post Light is a square solar lantern for the top of a post or a pillar, with a handset that changes the color and dims it. It runs warm white for an ordinary evening and switches to color when you want the garden to look like something else for a night. Lumen & Loam picked it as the one post light that can do both jobs.

The panel is built into the top, so there is no wiring and nothing to switch; it charges through the day and lights itself at dusk. The remote control handles color, dimming and a timer. Light options run from warm white through neutral and cool white to full color. The lantern is rated IP65 for rain and spray and carries a one-year warranty.

It measures about 16 x 16 x 23cm (6 x 6 x 9in) and is sold as a single light. Set it on a gate pillar, a deck post, a flat wall cap or the end of a run of fence posts. The panel on top needs open sky, so keep it clear of an overhanging branch. If it does nothing out of the box, switch it on and leave it in direct sun for six to twelve hours before judging it; a flat battery after a long shipping route is normal.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the remote control do?

It changes the color, dims the light and sets a timer. You can move from warm white through neutral and cool white to full color without touching the lantern.

How big is it?

About 16 x 16 x 23cm, or 6 x 6 x 9 inches, which suits a standard gate pillar or deck post cap. It is sold as a single light.

Is it weatherproof?

Yes. The lantern is rated IP65 for rain and spray and lives outside all year, backed by a one year warranty.

It did not light up out of the box. Is that normal?

Completely normal after a long shipping route. Switch it on and give it six to twelve hours of direct sun, then it will come on by itself at dusk that evening.

Where should I place it for the best charge?

Anywhere with open sky above. The panel is on top, so keep it clear of overhanging branches and it will charge fully every sunny day. See our Lighting Guide for color temperature, brightness and placement advice.
