Solar Motion Sensor Floodlight

The Solar Motion Sensor Floodlight is a wide 100 LED panel that sits dark until something moves, then lights the area in front of it. This is the practical end of the Lumen & Loam outdoor range rather than the decorative end: a side return, a bin store, a back door you arrive at with your hands full. It waits quietly and works when you need it.

Because it is solar and sensor driven, there is no wiring, no outlet and no switch to remember, and nothing draws power while it waits. The panel needs roughly eight hours of sun for a full charge. The housing is PC and ABS, rated IP65, so it copes with rain on an exposed wall. The white light is bright and functional, made for seeing rather than for setting a mood.

It comes in a single option, 100 LED white light. Mount it above a back door, on a garage or shed wall, at the top of a set of steps, or anywhere a path turns out of sight. Fix it high enough that the sensor looks across the space rather than down at the ground. Pick the sunniest wall you have and angle the panel toward the sky; a north-facing wall in winter will struggle to keep it charged.
