Description

A slim iron rack that stands plates on their edge instead of stacking them flat. Stacked plates mean lifting six to reach the seventh; on edge, you take the one you want. In matt black it looks like purposeful kitchen hardware rather than a plastic organizer, and it tidies an open shelf as much as it sorts out a cabinet. A quietly useful Lumen & Loam piece.

The frame is powder coated iron in matt black, narrow enough to stand inside a base cabinet without blocking what sits behind it. It holds plates, bowls, lids and chopping boards on edge, and it arrives ready to use with no assembly at all. The coating is what keeps iron from marking, so a chipped edge left wet is where rust will start.

Two sizes, sold singly. The small one fits a cabinet shelf; the large takes dinner plates and chopping boards together. Stand it inside a base cabinet, on an open shelf, or on the worktop beside the sink where things are put away straight from draining. Wipe it with a damp cloth and dry it, and do not leave it standing in water on a wet worktop. It is the kind of fix that makes a cabinet feel twice the size.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I stand in it?

Dinner plates, side plates, bowls, pan lids and chopping boards all stand comfortably on edge. The slots hold each piece upright so you can lift one out without disturbing the rest.

Which size should I pick?

The small size fits neatly on a cabinet shelf for everyday plates and lids. The large size takes full dinner plates and chopping boards together, so choose it if you want one rack for the lot.

Is there any assembly?

None at all. The rack arrives in one piece and stands wherever you put it, so it is in use the minute it is unpacked.

Where does it work best?

Inside a base cabinet, on an open shelf, or on the worktop beside the sink all work well. The narrow frame stands without blocking what sits behind it.

How do I care for the iron?

Wipe it with a damp cloth and dry it, and keep it out of standing water on a wet worktop. The powder coating protects the iron, so treated that way it stays matt black for years.
