Woven Boho Placemat Set

A set of six place settings, five of which pair a fringed cotton mat with a woven jute round laid over it, so each setting has two textures rather than one. The layering is what makes a plain table look considered, and the jute round doubles as a trivet for a hot dish. It is the most generous of the Lumen & Loam table sets and the quickest way to dress a long table.

Each cotton mat is about 50 x 30cm with a hand finished fringed edge, and each woven jute round is about 30cm across. Five combinations pair the two: Red Scallop Stripe and Green Scallop Stripe are the loudest, Jute Band and Taupe Weave sit quieter, and Plain Cream disappears under the china almost entirely. A sixth option, Jute Rounds Only, is exactly that: six woven rounds and no cotton mats.

Every option is a set of six. Use them on a dining table set for six, on a long kitchen table, or on a sideboard where the jute rounds work on their own as coasters under serving dishes. Shake out crumbs and spot clean with a barely damp cloth, and keep the jute out of the machine, since soaking stiffens the fiber.
